SNOMED International highly values clinical input into the development and maintenance of SNOMED CT. Clinical engagement ensures that the terminology meets both current and future clinical requirements. The session aims to provide an overview of clinical engagement and the work currently underway within SNOMED International and the broader clinical SNOMED CT community.
Dermot O’Riordan is a consultant surgeon at West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust in the UK, where he was previously Medical Director and also Interim Chief Executive Officer. He is currently the Chief Clinical Information Officer and responsible for delivering the e-Care integrated electronic health record project, with Cerner. Dermot will discuss his views and opinions on the future challenges and opportunities based on his extensive experience.
